Only two boat rounds is a backward step even if the numbers have dropped. Sometimes these things are cyclical and no doubt has to do with the state of the economy but I would have thought at least three boat rounds for 2017. I think that with only two rounds that numbers are likely to drop not increase, especially with more than six months between rounds 1 and 2. Perhaps if enough support the first round of boats in 2017 then another round could be added.

Not having a go at the organisers who have done a great job so far but it would be good to hear the reasons for this decision.

I am fairly confident that ABT will be having 2 rounds in WA next year so all is not as bad as it might seem.

Maybe if a certain Bream Group and FB community stop being yobos maybe there would be more Boaters. I had my boat ready for rd4 and put a add on this site and got NO REPLY because FB yobos going around talking smack. Owell Say La Vie, But iam sure we are going to see maybe 2 extra boat rounds ABT maybe?

Ian,nick, rich and mrs sewell all do a great job! But they need 40 plus boat at each comp if not Sponsor will not surport that boat event. Its all about numbers and prizes in the end. I dont care much for boat comps but i do enjoy it easy on my back at the end of the day I can introduce a nonboater to the Bream fever like i have intro many at yak breaming in the past. I mite speak to my main sponsor JB Caravan, redark, weaco and DO35 and see if they can sponsor a boat rd3. I will be speaking to Ian soon and for FB friends I block anyone that is a yobo to old to play there FB..games and BS. Peace out!

People's interests change, their priorities change , their health and well being change, their finances change, their jobs change, their locations change, their desire change just to name a few of the reasons numbers may have dropped.

Blaming social media for the lack of new boaters is horse sh!t grow up.
Lifes about having a giggle and bream fishing is no different, to take it anymore seriously just does your head in,relax and enjoy whats offered and move on.
The guys are doing a fantastic job and without them you'd have nothing, so just enjoy what they're prepared to offer and have some fun both on and off the water.

Cancel all comps for one year.

"you never know what you have got until its gone"

I bet that the year after that you will see a good entry list

Ian, Rich and Nick are doing a great job (Mrs Sewell also). I doubt that anyone can deny that. I think that the economy has a lot to do with the poor numbers for 2016. I heard a couple chaps talking at the round 4 boats, saying that they were finding it hard to find the money as there was little work around at the moment. This year financially has been a disaster for the building industry and mining, and of course everything tends to rely on these industries. Most of my friends, including me are feeling the pinch. As soon as money and job confidence is under threat, people just tighten up. Every day I pick up the paper I see another retail outlet closing down (i.e. Masters, DohDohDohDoh etc) As most of us know, boats are expensive to keep and run. It looks like we might end up with a total of 4 boats rounds in 2017 (2 being ABT), so it still looks pretty good to me. Maybe with some more confidence in 2017 the numbers will improve and things will be back to normal...hopefully!

Two boat rounds is a good idea if there is two ABTs coming to WA next year.
Keep the classics to two metro rounds next year to give the Perth blokes less travel time and less distance to prefish to save $$$.
If the rumours are true about both ABTs being south then next year will be a great year for boat comps. 2 metro, 2 south abts plus the Albany speccy which lacked numbers big time last year.

Good work WAFM boys, I'll defiantly be supporting the comps next year.

Hi Ian,
Will you be posting entry forms on here, as I can't find them on Westoz fish?

Cheers in advance.
