2lb Stren Microfuse
I just spooled up some 2lb Stren microfuse on one of my 1000 series reels. I've had the line sitting around so I thought I would give it a go. I had tied some 6lb vanish fluro leader on it and found it to cast terribly and snap at my leader knot twice in a 30 minute fishing session. Has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with this line? I'm interested in any feedback. Cheers.

There may well be some bias nostalgia attached to my opinions on 2lb Microfuse but I still have a soft spot for that line and found it great when I used it. Strong as an Ox like all fused braids and doesn't (to a degree) have that typical rigidness fused lines can tend to have. Solely because of the diameter. Have you experimented with other knots?

Double the working end up and tie that to your leader.
Ive got some 2 / 3 lb fireline and thats thin and manageable, but did graze my eyes over some 1lb microfuse spools over the weekend at Anaconda for $10 a spool... I thought as i ran it through my fingers "just nope"... Casting techniques need to be softened to allow the line to cope, cant think that this line will be comparable to say 4 or 6lb in cast-ability & resistance to dynamic shear forces that either flat or round lines go through, thermo fused lines will be a bit different to that of braids due to their binding structures and mfg processes.

I live and die by Stren Microfuse in 3lb. I also double it via a simple bimini to my leader.
Its getting harder to find these days.. luckily I bought a heap of bulk spools.
