It's the foreground effect of the picture. Actual size is smaller than a thumb drive. The wooden knob with the handle fixed is well balanced and the turning is much more smoother and powerful with the knob in your palm.No wobbling effect and the whole reel feels like one smooth block of aluminium.
You have to try it to know what I meant.
Here's another piocture with the knob as background.

It comes with the 2004 certate 2500 R-custom.I think it's the shorter version of the two power handles available for purchase as certate accesories.

Well done.That's a nice catch.
With your new combo,I am sure you enjoyed every second of it.

Can it match stella SR 1000?

the xf and stella would be a very nice combo indeed

so light

the weight of the certate isnt to bad.

235g is up there compared to the exist but compared to cheaper reels its pretty good. feels so smooth and solid. so happy with it.

Yeap, it's a joy to use. Would have bought another if they have the certate 1000 series.

penguin

can you feel the extra weight the wooden knob adds to the reel. i like the look of it but it is 3 times the weight of the normal Type-I Knob

RCS stuff

does anyone know where you can buy rcs spools/knobs and handles in perth

Surprising no. You don't feel the weight at all. When you turn with the wooden knob,it makes the reel easier to rotate and smoother.
I am not sure how it will behave with the 2000 though.

Well, it's that smooth 'cos it's got bearings in it as well. The additional weight is from the bearings and the hardwood used to make it.

Fully tricked out LT reel: Certate + RCS 1503 spool, double handle. OOOOHH!!!
Man would I love to see a 1000 size, just a little shorter/different angled reel stem.
Oh, and wooden versions of the rubber/cork I knobs, like the Ebony ones available for the Stella.

That would be CRAZY!!! I'm guessing you'd have to specially order the RCS stuff from Japan, probably through Plat, or maybe one of the Team Daiwa stockists could order it.

Not just the bearings. Its better leverage when the wooden knob and the machine handle is attached. It sort of balanced well with the spool and lines.
Yes 1000 series with a small power handle and a rounded cork knob will be a killer.Hope Teanm Daiwa is listening.

Then you'd love the balance of the double handle. Something Shimano have offered in Europe for many years now, on their Stradic front drag, the GTM series of reels, and the smaller baitrunner GT models.

It's really sweet!!! I like Shimano for their compact size, smoothness and line lay, but Daiwas have always had the edge in drag performance, and now there's almost no difference in gearing performance, line lay. The thinline bodies of reels like the Certate are great too.
