Getting there Ice - those chairs look comfy as

While the weather is good for working inside - its not so good for getting resins to dry - how dramatic is effect of cold weather on drying times supposed to be?

Is there a point where they suggest you dont even try to get resins to cure?

I do have a heater in the shed that makes it a bit more comfortable for me during winter and allows for a good curing time even though i don't really leave it on for long after finishing for the day. The epoxy heats up through a chemical reaction as well so will eventually get there itself.

yeah totally different process... apply heat and it really kicks off the curing process. and not the same bubble problem, mine was purely due to the strake/chine edge not radiused enough.

got to work over the long weekend... sanding then re-glassed the chines and strakes.
After inspection again tonight i have a few minor issues that will need a bit of attention but much happier with how they look so will grind a fill a couple of spots and then fair and prime.

Not much will happen this weekend as i am taking the boys to the boat show to have a look at all the toys we can't afford to put on the boat!!

How are the enthusiasm levels going at this stage - I can imagine all that sanding can wear a man down

Sanding is a tedious process however i've worked out how to make it ok... heater on in shed, erabuds in and listening to music, ear muffs over the top... and just sand away!!

sanding... sanding... sanding...

I've been a bit crook and work has been rather hectic so my build times have decreased to most saturdays unless busy with other commitments.

i have been thinking about a 90hp Merc but the final decision will be made further down the track. The smallest i will be going is a 70hp, largest 90hp.

whether i go new or second hand will simply come down to finances, i still need to factor in Electric Motor and 2 x Sounders as my other big $$ items
