Lowrance help
Ok as some of you guys know i am a Lowrance pro team angler and have used Lowrance products for over 25 years. I also come from a technical background. So i got to thinking that there would be a lot of people out there that could do with some advice, tips, New products and help in setting up and problems with lowrance products. If i can't help straight away i can find out and get back ASAP. So lets get this started.
New Products Sonic Hub Sonic Hub This is a nifty marine audio server that hooks up to your Lowrance HDS or Simrad NSE unit and allows you to play an iPod, iPhone or MP3 music files on an USB stick, AM/FM radio and control everything via your HDS. So you can choose the songs you want to hear, change the volume control etc all through the HDS display. The unit is a black box that you can store underneath the dash, then there's the hub which can either be mounted on your dash where the iPod sits and also comes with 2 x Speakers. It all hooks up to the HDS unit via NMEA 2000. More information can be found here: http://www.lowrance.com/en/SonicHub/ I had a good look and play with this at the Australian Release at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show and it was impressive. when it comes out around September it will be priced at $599 retail The good thing is it will work on the HDS 5 and up. Tip1 For those that have a HDS unit Some of you may not know how to take a screenshot of your HDS screen. It's pretty easy once you know how: 1. Select 'Screen Capture' from the System menu and press enter. 2. Press the LIGHT/Power key to capture the current screen. Repeat this step to take additional screen captures. Then, to save screen captures a SD card: 1. Select Files from the Utilities list on the Pages menu. Press Enter. 2. Highlight My Files and press the keypad to the right. Select screenshots and press the keypad to the right. 3. Select the desired screenshot. Press menu. The screenshot menu will appear. 4. Select Copy and press enter. The Copy File menu will appear. 5. Your SD card will be listed on the screen. Select your SD card and press enter. You will be taken back to the list of screenshots. Repeat Steps 3-5 to copy more screenshots. Here is the latest update for HDS Lowrance HDS 3.0 Software There is a new HDS Software update available. This new software provides your units with the following: * Radar functionality enhancements for BR24 and HD Digital Radars * Monitoring of DSS(r) manufactured omni-BUS load controllers * Navionics charting improvements * Fuel Pricing (US Only) * Miscellaneous software improvements * Miscellaneous bug fixes You can download this software from http://www.lowrance.com/Downloads/Pr...tration-files/ For those of you that are into facebook Lowrance have started a page if you are keen get on and have a look Lowrance Facebook Site For those of you that have Facebook accounts, we have launched a good Lowrance Facebook page -www.facebook.com/Lowrance. Hi Stephen
Alright - before I can take anything you say seriously What are the fish pictured below Approximately how long are they Are they actively feeding How fast were we traveling when the snap shot was taken What is the big hump to the left of frame Whats all that Green Yellow and Red stuff at the top of screen and why is there green stuff in the depressions at the bottom of the screen. These could be trick questions that I already know the answer to - but there is a very good chance I have no Idea |

Yep. Goes straight to SD card. Also shows a waypoint on the GPS screen with a little camera icon. A little window opens to show you the screen shot when you hover the cursor over it as well.

Stephen, I have a HDS5 and a HDS8 networked via NMEA2000. Can I add a ethernet cable directly between the two units to make use of waypoint sync and backlight sync while still using nmea for my Yamaha interface and temp probes?

Hds gauge display through nmea200
So. As far as i can tell the HDS series sounders will let me view a full set of diagnostics for my new Yamaha f60. Is this correct? Also can I show the figures in an overlay over the charts or sounder? I mainly want to monitor temps and pressures an dont need a fancy gauge for that. What else do I need to purchase apart from the unit ant the Lowrance t cable with the yamaha to NMEA 2000 network fitting.
