Great day on the water despite a couple of let-downs when we crossed the peel inlet... on the way over the throttle cable has broken something where it connected to the motor and kept on popping out. John saved it with a cable tie as a temporary fix and on the way back when I got over 15kts, the wiring is apparently still loose under the dash and kept stopping the motor when we hit a wave (slowed to 8kts and no issues besides getting wet...)!! All in all, great day, lots of bycatch and was lucky enough to find a couple of good fish with both of us contributing two fish each getting to I think my best placing in the boat comps yet. The Tairyo Nano Speed II rod performed flawlessly and was pretty much the only combo I used all day with the same 4lb leader the entire time! Looking forward to throwing the yak in next weekend!

Congratulations again Ian and dror, fantastic effort! When was wafm's last win BTW?
To all the anglers that fishe the event well done, I love looking around at the briefing and seeing everybody's faces. A slight hint of focus but an overwhelming look of excitement.
I was prepared for a mentally challenging day however I didn't prepare myself enough! We pretty much focused on bream HWY's as our prefish didn't give us any indication residential fish would be biting their heads off.
We got 3 fish in very close succession at around 8:30. However as the tide started to push upriver the bite went cold. We fished so many different styles to try and suss them out however to no avail.
Made the call at 12:30 to head to the fast moving current near the boat ramp and I had a 33 fork fish on the second cast. Talk about relief!
Chris also managed a decent 30+ fish to upgrade a 26 at the death.
The aim of the day was to no doubt mix retrieves up and the way We fished the bank. Most of our fish came from the very front of the extended snags. Makes sense as this would be were active fish will be feeding.
Hopefully we will be greeted with more fish in the winter murray comp in 2 months time!

Congrats to the top teams.

Was a hard day for us on the Murray, one fish being pulled in the first drift, then it was just a consistent day of smaller fish hiding in the snags.

Thanks to Craig and all involved for a great day. Looking forward to the June round.
