clips or loop knot??

This has probally been asked before, sorry if it has. I use loop knots on both.
Who use clips for hards or softs, what size , or do you prefer the loop knot or trusty uni knot?

I used to be a loop man, then i went to clips and became a serial lure changer.
Now i'm going back to loops, so i stick with a lure i know works, when its not working.

After fishing with lures for a wile it becomes like second nature to just re-tie and personally i think that a loop knotted lure has more of a natural appearance and also clips can make suspending lures sinking.

For those who do use loops knots are you removing the split rings and tying to the eye?

Or tying your loop knots to the split ring?

I personally use clips and spiral snaps. Sometimes tie loop knots (Uni) direct to the eye.

what loop knots do you use?
I find perfection loops hard to tie i don't know the name of the loop knot i use. But i usually just tie a uni knot straight to the split ring works fine for me

Have been using the owner lure clips for a while, but changed to the decoy snaps, prefer them alot more, just tie the good old bloodknot onto it.

So basically what I have settled on now is the no-knot fas snap not cheap at all but the BEST in my opinion - strong, reliable, good lure action and best of all sinch to use Oh and one final word, me fishing plastics with mates using the same lures, leaders, twitches you name it the only difference in our rig is the snap - we are both equal in our catches, never do I lose confidence in my presentations when I have a tiny little fas snap hanging off the front of them. Especially with hb's they have so much metal hanging off them as it is I can't see how a tiny snap would deter a fish any more than six hooks and three split rings haha.
Just thought I'd pass on this ... I personally prefer knots to snaps
Just thought I would pass on my experiences with a product called No knot Fas-snap. They are lure clips that are tied onto your leader and allow fast changing of lures and flies (see pic attached).

Twice in the last two weeks I have had a Jackall TN60 fly off the snap during the cast. This obviously results in the loss of the Jackall. I should have learnt my lesson after losing the first one but I guess I just thought it was my mistake.

I have not had this happen with any other lure - my luck, would have to be a $25 lure!!!!! I am not trying to bad mouth this product but if you use these snaps in combination with Jackalls just beware.

Loop knot - it's money saved and it's always good to re-tie after every few fish to remove sections of abraded leader.

Joelozzy, tie loops direct to the eye/towpoint. Remove the split rings and keep them as spares.

I only use clips on blades the rest especially flies a loop knot (unless it's got a ring). Only problem I encounter with loop knots if you get snagged. the leader breaks at the braid whilst a clinch knot or half blood always breaks at the lure so you don't have to tie on another leader. My experience anyway. Pat

+1 ... I have not had any issues with this technique either and it certainly makes changing lures alot easier - and this happens quite regularly. Regards. HBt.

loop knot !? never had a need for it since i found figure 8 clips, damiki clips

i permanently keep clips on lures that do not come with split rings and which need a loop knot.
