Rugged waterproof camera, any suggestions?

Hi everyone.
A little while ago, I took one of my mates out on my canoe for a day of fishing (I won't name the particular mate in this instance), anyways, long story short, my mate stood up, lost his balance and somehow, the canoe rolled.
Inside the canoe was my camera.......which is now dead.
So now I am on the market for a new camera, and from recent experience, I reckon a waterproof one would be a pretty good idea.
My last camera was a Fuji Finepix S5800, So I would like to get similar or slightly better, but waterproof.
I'm not sure of my budget yet, as I don't know what the insurance company will give me for the camera, but I am probably looking at about $240.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

I kayak fish and have a Fuji Z33 which is waterproof. Takes great pics and very simple to use. Under two hundred bucks at Big W and bought a decent size memory card so set the photo quality at high and still take a heap of pics.
Heres some recent pics

I have to agree with the other guys (I think they are refering to the same camera). I have the same, a FujiFilm Finepix Z33, which i completely waterproof as is. All you have to do to clean it is soak it in clean water for 10 mins. They are definately the best camera going around for fishing and take great pics!

Hey Breamcatcher, That "splash pack" sounds like it might be the option for me. I will definitely follow it up.

Yeah, it's Fujifilm Finepix J28 with the underwater case. Bought one from Target just before Christmas for $169, but they were on sale at the time.
Great P&S camera, very happy.
