Yeh, I do still plan on getting a samurai Later on (102 for flats ), but for now, with leavers coming up, the cheaper option is better for me, aswell as the fact that the Azusa feels awesome. To me, before I looked at the price tag, I thought it was a 500 dollar rod. I appreciate everyone's input into this thread though, thanks fellas.

Go the Vapor
I have owned both vapors and samurais, and the vapor is definitely the better rod. If I still had a vapor I would lend it to you until you to make up your mind but I sort of took a break from breaming and stupidly sold all that gear.

I ran 10lb braid through my vapor 70 and fished it hard, no dramas. The samurai also has a replacement warranty of 35% I think it is of RRP. I love my samurais and I have flogged my 302 so hard I'm really surprised it hasn't broken but when comparing the bream models, the vapor has it hands down for me.

I've got an Azusa myself and I've only got good things to say about it. It's components are comparable to the higher end rods... it also has K guides. Thinking it's a $500 rod before looking at the price tag is overkill though Something like the Daiwa TNSB would be a $500 rod

rule out the 101 if you plan (as stated) to fish around rock wall... or if you plan on fishing above the water level, like river walkway walls, paths, etc...
reasoning is pretty evident.

Skeletal seats are on the 6ft (one piece) and the 7ft (pce). They have k guides, and feel awesome IMO. Not sure which other rods have skeletal grips tho.
