Gday All
Hiya all,
Firstly let me say this...what a GREAT site. I have been fishing since I was old enough to hold a rod and a avid swaffer for about the last 15 years, but just a few weeks ago I got the urge to take a shot at breaming on plastics. I have always used conventional methods for bream in places like Bemm River..but moving to just south of sydney has seen me want to try something different. Any ways, I thought and thought about it, then came up here to Coffs for a holiday at my folks place and actually got my wallet out and went shopping. I bought a Shimano Stradic 2000, and 6'6" Stella spin stick..loaded it with 6lb fireline and well..a heap of plastics, heads and leader material and $700 later, I was heading fishing. Not really knowing what to buy I was totaly in the hands of the guys in the tackle store as far as the plastics went..but lookin at the ideas posted here I got some fairly good advice. I bought 1"1/2 sliders in pumpkinseed and motor oil colors and 211 size 2 Gammy heads in 1/16 ounce and some squidgies in varying colors and sizes...lotsa flattie's in the inlet. My old man also bought a stella spin stick and scored a 4lb frog on it first outing on a killer tomato squidgie. I got 2 little bream and a pan size flatty. Then I decided to do some searching on the net..and found you guys..whoot...I hope you dont mind me waffling on, but this forum has been a great help. Look forward to spending alot more time here. Take it easy.. Simmo

Hi Simmo,
mate, like you i have just signed up to this site today, it's a ripper. i got into chucking plastics at things about 6 mounths ago, have over 25 species on the things now and looking for more each time on the water,my mates come up to go jack fishing with me,i peg softies for Bream and thay chase jacks and laugh and abuse me for Brimmin instead of jack fishing. have to date taken my best fish, a nice Barra @96cm and on the light spin a 100cm Queenie ! the first 3 queenies o hooked in the week leading up to boating the big one.... spooled me. not bad i suppose 1 out of 4.. better odds than Big Barra in the sticks Hookin,Brett |

Picton Dave..
Heya Folks
Just back from a stint on the water...no bream today but got a nice frog on a 1 1/2" pumpkinseed grub. Dave.. I live south of Sydney near picton where its quiet! But I have often heard that there is some good fishing close to the big smoke...Ill have to go try it some day soon. Not having a boat as yet makes things a little tricky tho, Im still workin on the Missus there (she hates boats ) oh well.If I buy enough flowers I might get lucky one day. Take care all. Simmo Simmo

lol...
Simmo keep treating her nice - my wife and I have a deal, if I spend money on me she gets to spend the same on herself - suffice to say, when I got my boat the jewellery store got a real workout Cheers,
