Reels that won't QUIT

Show some photos of reels you have that no matter what you throw at them, or have thrown them in... Just won't QUIT. Below is my only Daiwa in circulation and no matter what I throw at it is still as good as ever.

My daiwa advantage 4000 has lasted me forever and a day. I think it was the only size of the series made in japan and the quality is up there. Have abused it over many years and is as smooth as when I got it.

still have my dad's first daiwa he ever bought. Landed a 12kg cobia on it on the same 15lb mono he first put on it 40 years ago.

My first ever bait caster. A mate and I at the time, both got into luring at the same time and bought our set up's around 1998 / 1999. At that time we fished every day after school religiously (and religiously between those days I worked after school) and caught everything from school trevally to flatties and we near wore out our baitcasters - well my mate did with his Jarvis Walker(s). I wore the rod it came out on as it was a balanced set, and went through another two until I found a Shimano Rex Hunt Black Label - Deluxe Ultra Light and to that which I still have also.

Still have the reel and love the little thing! Still casts unbelievably well and winds smoothly. The drag was upgraded from felt to oiled split chrome leather and that works remarkably smooth for its whole life.

Penn 713 ( shimano 4000 for size Comp ) holds a heap of mono. It would have to be 40 years old and virtually unbreakable still fishes well although not often since I've had it. I sometimes break it out come spring to show off a little

I had a 3000 Shakespeare that was tough as anything, I bought it at my 13th birthday (4 years ago) and took it on many overseas trips. I landed my first bream on lure with this reel, landed a small tuna, maccies and other tropical species. This reel had been dunked into the southern ocean, Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean.
The reel is no longer in my possetion. Last year I donated it to a young Indonesia fellow on a small island in Indonesia (he took me out for a fish one day free of charge, I decided to give him a combo and a tray of lures as a thankyou)

Its just a SureCatch knob I picked up overseas that fits most Daiwas, I started using it to jig overseas with. I was trying to kill the reel but it wont die unlike every other Daiwa I have or had :-) except maybe a GS2 that's alive but clunky... Anyway the plastic handle blistered up my fingers even with gloves, so on with the knob.. I think it was about $25.00, fits easy after drilling the OEM Handle out.
