Acer Aspire One Black Xp Home (160gb)

Been chasing a small netbook\notebook for travelling so I can store and view pics etc and still do a bit of work without having a full laptop. Needed some retail therapy today after a crap week with the Ravensthorpe Project shutdown and a heap of mates sacked so I checked out PLE (http://www.ple.com.au/?p=notebooks&s...ds9ilf5a8rhs62) and found exactly what I was looking for. Great screen clarity, good size hard drive and perfect size. So far so good, will see how it really goes on the Exmouth trip next month. The best thing was the price. Acer have a cash back offer which makes this around $530, damn cheap.

All the best Bear I bought an Acer Aspire 1801 literally 1 week out of warranty and the screen was gone , rang where I bought it from , no help sorry out of warranty , rang Acer got the answer more or less tell someone who cares , Had a mate that ended up helping me out and the wife now has it , thing is noisy doesn't like heat etc etc , I went out and bought a new one an Asus and very happy with it. Acer will never see me again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. All the best with your purchase hope you have trouble free computing

Cheers
Ozzy

hey bear,
- make sure you get right onto the cashback offer - a few complaints on CHOICE about Acer being a bit stingey when it comes to the cashback !. I got an aspire 5920 about 6 months ago, and only got the cashback cheque about 3 weeks ago !!.
They also catch a lot of people out 'cos they say you have 28 days to send in claim; but the small print says that you have to pre-register online within something like 1 week !! - caught me out (fixed with some handy photo-shopping of the docket !! )

I recently scored a great little Asus eee PC that should serve me well for travelling !

This is my third Acer from PLE and never had an issue with either. Tried to justify the difference between the eeepc and the Aspire and just couldn't at the price. Will see how it goes any way.

its a shame the price tags are so large as i really think the mac book air would have fitted the bill nicely bear. Nevermind.

Bones, yeh after a decade using windows from highschool thru work and until a year or so ago, Ive realised just how good macs are.

We do all of our mag work on Macs, but I have too many software issues with them so it's not always viable. In the end, I was just after a small one for on the run.
