Angry I'm not stupid to fall for a lure!

Taken in the Franklin River, Walpole - Western Australia. They were right by my feet and would turn around when they saw a lure. They kept circulating in the same area for no reason at all but when I threw in a piece of bread, they just about jumped out of the water, kinda like waiting for someone to come feed them (maybe a daily routine). Locals there were all catching and using bait.

5lb brown, I caught this one while chatting to the fisheries inspector who was checking my license... perfect timing.

Thanks mate. Until about 3 weeks ago my biggest trout was around 2lb, now I consider that tiny and not worthy of a photo.

They are certainly a special fish.

I spend most of my time on rivers so the size tends to be MUCH smaller....

Still HEAPS of fun and when its only 30mins away you can't complain...

i agree eddy, the bigest buzz for me with trout is not the size of the fish, although it is nice to catch the big'ns, but how tricky they were to fool!! not to mention how hard they are just to get a shoot at them over here in the west.

i'll have to see if i can scan a few of the pics from my NZ trip!! we fished taupo for 2 weeks ....... no they have trout!! you know its an awsome system when a fish can grow to 300mm in about 6 weeks!! must go back there again.

roll on season opening !!

brad
