Never heard of that Yacutan knot. Looks easy to tie!

Might give it a go. How many turns roughly for 6lb leader and 8lb PE?

Do you have a Bimini as well or just double the main line?

Thanks mate. Reason I asked is I tried this knot years ago in 4lb fireline and had trouble with it slipping. Went to the slim beauty and never looked back.

I am gonna try that for micro guides. Since FG knot for 8lb leader is a nightmare, this looks easy as.

Cheers

really?
even the slim beauty which is a great knot causes a bit of a clunk noise on retrieval when it hits the first guide. The only knot that doesnt is the FG.

On SiC guides, I only feel the clunk with a Slim Beauty but with Alconites, the noise is there.

The fg may be tedious to tie, but I love how small and compact it sits, it also seems somewhat forgiving to screwups with the overhand knots, I currently use a tool though lol I think Id have a big mess without the tool I currently use is this one although I also have an ez knotter i havent really used, i think ill be sticking with the fg from now on, i do think its a process thar can get much faster with practice http://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/p...ssist-2-0.html

Hey guys, I'm keen to give the FG knot a go. Can anyone recommend a good you tube video that explains the knot with clear instructions? I've found a few videos but i've found them little hard to follow.

Cheers
Corey

This is the way I do it. The best and simplest way imo.
But I do 6 overlaps then tighten. Then 6 more and tighten.. etc. I make a total of 30-40 overlaps.
