Does look a little better than I initially thought but still think previous version looks nicer.

I posted a question on the Daiwa Facebook page about it yesterday. The response from Daiwa was that they had not sold enough 2004s in the current model to warrant the investment in the tooling for the 2012 Steez. They then wrote "if you want a 2000 size thereis the Exist or Certate....... or you can wait a little while and see the new reels coming!!!!". But no news about what the new reels are. Cheers, Darren |

Unfortunately I don't think Australia is a big enough market to have a significant impact on Daiwa's product planning for the reels.
I bought my Steez 2500 on eBay at the start of 2010 and have been looking to source a Steez 2004 from overseas ever since. I have rarely seen a 2004 advertised on eBay or anywhere else overseas. What I don't understand though is that Daiwa make rods specially for Australian conditions. Why not reels? I'm sure there is enough demand for a 2000 size Steez. I'd certainly buy one. |

Australian stores can still order 2004 size Steez reels they just come from Daiwa Japan to Daiwa Australia. One shop in Brisbane will be getting some for sure |

A few have mentioned that the old Steez can be had for $450 - $500.
Can anyone let me know where? And how does the old Steez compare with the Certates? |

Lets not all forget the Steez is a north american based Bass reel, for the Americans. We were just fortunate enough to realize they make awesome bream reels, love mine to bits. Last edited by Ado; 14-07-2012 at 01:00 AM. |
