Crab repairs

Alls not lost if you drop a base plate and this will do me for a quick fix .

Bit of Knead It , some solder wire , super glue , legs I chose old an old RST lure but later found some small electrical ties that would have done a better job glued in first.

Not pretty but good enough for a boily .... a fitter would have been fussier.

Should have checked weight before putting Knead it on as there was more room to push some solder wire into the cavity , but I'll get it out there and see how long it lasts

Done hook upgrades to...... they're to ugly to put up but will work.

Cheers

A $21 lure plus a $30 repair kit? no thanks. I'll stick to my atomics or mikis (or whatever)

Same happened to 3 of mine 2 of them within 2 casts
Should it really be happening?
Don't think I will be replacing them until it's sorted

Probably better to speak to steersy rather than complaining about it here.

They are aware of the problem and pretty sure they would be working on it. I'm sure they don't need another message

Are you for real dude?
That's a lot of work for a lure ready for the bin.

Read somewhere that the baseplate loss was unfortunately a common problem and that the "crab mk2" will not have removeable one, it will be either "heavy" or "light". Can't confirm this, maybe Steersy can shed some light?
I don't mind having to replace hooks and even rings on quality lures after a fish or three. I would not be a happy camper if I bought a $20 lure and the ar$e just fell out of it.

Cranka are aware of a limited number of crabs experiencing issues with the base plates

If anyone has any crabs that have lost base plates please contact steersy directly either through pm or through crankalures.com and he will resolve any issues. This has been mentioned on the "cranka crab is born" thread.

All remaining stock at the cranka warehouse is being fixed so the baseplate cannot seperate from the body during use and any issues with stock already in stores or in anglers hands will be dealt with through steersy direct.

Hope that helps.
