changing trailers

Hi Guys,

Gotta a new boat trailer today and need to swap them around. As I understand it, you can drop a tinny onto grass and winch it up the new trailer by jamming it underneath and winching but I have a few q's you guys can help me with.
Do you need to take the motor off?
Do you leave the trailer hooked up to the car when pulling the boat off?
Should you have more than one person around when performing this procedure?

Cheers
J.

I did my first trailer swap with spare car tires lying on the ground for a bit of height... x 4 (no rim) and had the trailer disconnected from the car so you get a bit of tilt just watch the draw bar end when it tilts up!!. Man handle the boat off onto the tires and pull the trailer from underneath the boat as it sits on the tires. Try and have a few mates around to make it a bit easier. I left the motor on the boat. my 2nd one i took it to the ramp..was much easier!!

As Scotty said, use tyres or an old mattress or something, mates definitely make the process a lot easier!

But the best way for me is to take the boat down to the ramp, drop it in, swap trailers and pull it out. A lot quicker, easier on the back and its a good excuse for a flick!

I'd take it to the ramp and swap it over...much easier, safer and trouble free!
