One thing I have noticed over the years is that predatorial fish love something with a bit of flash. The golds in the brackish water are ideal for this.

that certainly is one eaten lure- nice size fish on a big lure!!!

BTW: that wasnt caught at walpole by any chance was it??? the background would be giving away your spots!!!

Howya going Bear, I use the 52 D/D a bit and been getting the odd good fish on the Tilsan Bass. Evan it's at the mouth of the Hay R in Denmark, Ira's told me I'm not aloud to prick to many fish in the Pole so I've had to go fish my other options which are proving very good. My 11yr old son caught this one and it was 41cms and would of gone 3lb.

Dont let that young bloke onto a "68" either Madfish or the lure is going to be bigger than he is

You'd know more than a few spots down there I bet. Will be good to get down to your neck of the woods. Unfortunately I don't get down too often and it's great that the series is going all over the place.

If you don't mind me asking, do you find any advantage with the bigger lures??

I couldn't help myself Craig, here's a 48cm on a big 68 Scorp. Dont know it's weight but it'd have to go 2kg. Your right I cant let the young fella have a 68 he's already nailing good enough fish.

They cast better in the wind which there's been heaps of lately and since I've been using 50mm+ lures I haven't caught a Blackie under 24cms and I dont seem to be scaring too many off. Big lure big fish, if I stop catching I'll drop back down.

Ive got 11 scorps in my tackle box, definitly have a use for them, I caught my first 4 fish on them, but just seem to be going through an OarG phase at the moment, and a big one at that...... I do love the action of the scorp though.... me Gold OarG will be first off the rack this weekend......

Cheers

Gold and black Scorpion 35

Has anyone seen or know where I can get the gold sneaky with the black stripes and minnow pattern..I found one today, I haven't seen this pattern before and it's exactly what I was looking for, I was about to modify a gold one to exactly what this pattern is but hey if I can find more of the little suckers then I'll stock up!

Anyway tried it out this evening around Guildford and picked up 4 bream within 45 mins including one very nice fish of about a kilo..would have been around 38-39cms (last time I go out with no batteries in my camera)..was a lot of fun on 2 kilo mono straight to the lure (haha cheers Richo for that mono and for teaching me that new knot, it's good hey :-)
