The fitter at work done this one for me, but as Chanlo said there is more to it then just pooring in the lead. Its just easier for me to buy them, now that I am not flat tack broke all the time.

I make my own on matzuo sickle jig hooks. Got boxes of hooks in the shed still with thousands of hooks in them. Size 2 and 4. Can make round, bullet or minnow profiles 1/8 to 1/32nd on those sizes.

Dowelly if you want to buy my jig making setup let me know. Nearly out of lead but lots of hooks and a few different molds. Will make a heap more for myself before you take them though. Im not into having lead fumes around that much now with the little one around.

My wife and I just had our first baby and I'm a little the same way.
I have only done it when they are not here and run two fans blowing the fumes out the window into a breeze.

Guys you can certainly still get packs of jig heads at less than $1ea. Been giving them a good work out lately and they have performed without fault and without the need to pour your own. Just another option anyway for those that dont want to make their own.

Cheers
Jase

Anything will hold a Zman - with a drop of superglue.

Question

Thinking about getting the 7g 2/0 jigman ones.

Can anyone report whether the hooks are fine gauge like the squidgie round ball ones (which get straighted too easily)?

Or are they heavy gauge (more like the berkley nitro saltwater) which is more what I need.

I actually been told by a local tackle store about this since April, since then I been stocking up when DohDohDoh, Complete Angler and Amazon on sale. Lucky...I can fish for another 1-2 years without the need to purchase anymore. Hope gamma doesn't raise the price anymore....

They are more like the fine gauge hooks you refer to.

If you have a preference one way or another drop Didge an email I am sure he could make something to suite your needs.
