They're sharp hooks, but I'm put off by the thick guage of them. I use them sometimes when I need a light weight with a strong hook.
Always remember to close the eye of the hook before using it, there's plenty of people (myself included) who have dropped fish only to wind in and find a loop knot still on the end of the leader...

I have seen a mate lose a big salmon off pt lonsdale pier to the same problem you describe - loop know still intact. Otherwise, I fing the squidgy finesse good with bas minnows. I find the squidgy wire plastic gripper part better than some other brands that simply have a lead hook. Your thoughts???

The keeper on the Squidgy hooks is excellent, IMO it's their best feature.

I'm looking forward to the release of the Squidgy resin head hooks in the small sizes.

Well since I made this thread I’ve been using Squidgy finesse heads on all my Bass minnows and have had some ups and downs with hook up ratio's due to the thick gauge and my lack of strike

I cant fault the actual jig in any other way apart from its thick gauge.

I love the keeper. It holds the plastic in place very well and best of all it doesn’t demolish the plastics (Bass minnows have a shocking habit of splitting IMO).

My hook up ratio hasnt really changed to much (I have to also blame the rod i've been using lately) But i find if I set the hook allot harder I dont have a problem.

I havent had the problem with the keepers opening up to much yet though..Ill crush them down just to make sure

There’s been a bit of talk about bringing out a darter head with a thinner gauge so keep your eyes pealed

My opinion on Squidgy Finesse Heads so fare...GREAT!!!

Cheers, Nathan

Fair enough i would'nt of sold the hl-z in a hurry as for the rod the hl-z imo is one of the best rods out their, the guides are all top notch so is the build quality. as for the reel seat nothing compares.

Your not wrong there. I just got rid of the Finesse special because I didnt like the weight. At 140 grams its hardly light. Other than that its one of the best rods I've put my hands on.

The Jerkin speical is going soon to make way for a new rod. I dont know why im getting rid of it. Its got to be the best HB rod out there

Cheers, Nathan
