15 - 20lb Braid for Baitcaster

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend some 15 - 20b braid to use for a baitcasting reel?
I'll be ordering a 1016HL Ryoga as soon as i receive an email back confirming stock and was looking for some line to suit.
Is it better to use a braid that's not as supple to help avoid backlash?

According to the specs the reel can take 200m of 1.5 PE.

In all honestly, I wouldn't touch 8 Strand PE braid for baitcasts.

After using Sunline PE, I can't stand any other braid in the same class.

EASILY my favourite casting braid, without a doubt.

Bought 2 300m spools of this stuff in 30lb and filled all my barra set-up with this - Simply awesome.

I used mine today, and I was surprise about casting distance.

ALOT better then I guessed. I'd say on par with my HLC.

You'll love the Ryoga IMO.

What are you gonna match her too you reckon?

Thanks mate.
I was thinking of buying another Loomis rod but wasn't sure on which one. I've got a brand new, unused Zillion 601 MFB (3-7kg) which i was looking at selling but i might keep it for the Ryoga for now. Plus i've got a bunch of things on my credit card to pay off so using what i have might be a smarter decision for me right now

Catch anything on the Ryoga?

I was thinking of getting this line.
I've got a 2000 Fuego spooled with 10lb Radius and love it. It's not as soft as other PE's so it knots well and is pretty much maintenance free but still casts very well.

Can't go past anything made by ygk. They have a new range of different p.e. Lines on the market. Have been through every line on the market over the years and keep goin back to ygk. In that line class, I would recommend the new G soul, nice waxy smooth line with good abrasions resistance, have been using it hard in the last 7months and it is still as good as the day I spoiled it. Also have a look at the ygk super p.e and the ultra p.e great value for money.

What about good old bionic braid, used to have it on a couple of baitcasters and plan on filling my next purchase (hopefully a pluton as well) with some 20lb. Never had an issue with wind knots and holds knots beautifully
