New camera help
I got an early birthday present in the form of the Olympus Tough TG2 camera and so far I am impressed with the pictures I have taken.
What I want to do though is get a better grasp on the manual controls such as Aperture, white balance, etc. So can anyone recommend a website to learn this or a course that can be done on line. A photo from my practice run yesterday. I was using the super macro setting. |

Hey mate, i work as a photographer, do a few YouTube searches, there is heaps of great tutorials on just about anything camera related, sometimes its easier to have someone teach you than reading through an article and trying to teach yourself.
Cheers, Glenn. |

Hey mate, if you wanna take macro shots and stuff like that a miniature tripod will really help! Plenty of information out there and if you want to get into it photography-on-the.net/forum is a really cool place but a lot of information to cipher through!

Thankyou so much guys.
Hornet - thanks for the links, I will read through them. Glen - I never thought about You Tube for tutorials, so thats a brilliant idea. Twoshoes - I am very interested in the macro shots. I Looked like a bit of an idiot burrowing around the yard yesterday looking for bugs that would stay still long enough for me to take a photo lol. even the dog started hiding from me when she saw me coming |

Creative Live
Couple of great workshops coming up on Creative Live.
You can watch the broadcast & the next day re-broadcasts for free if you enrol (also free) and you can also purchase the broadcast video/download if you want to own a copy. Tabletop/closeup photography starts tomorrow, I think. http://www.creativelive.com/courses/...ndrew-scrivani Digital Photo fundamentals, (including manual controls & settings) in 4 days time. Excellent presenter. http://www.creativelive.com/courses/...4-john-greengo The only hitch is that they are live in the US so time differences mean you are up late or early
