The bloke who designed the rod put the hook keeper right on the balance point of the rod. So your finger is always dancing around it and will jam into it when you hook a fish.

I dont use hook keepers anyway so this was ultra annoying

So a snip with the clippers - some yanking with pliers - a coat of araldite and a light sand.......and now they are useable again

Well I bet you have all been on the edge of your seats, wondering what happened to that carp juice I saved, from when I salted down some carp to use for bait

Here it is on day one

and again 7 months down the track.....

Well its been 2 years, 6 months and 2 days since the experiment started.

My hopes of a new self contained eco system in a jar, with new species evolving didnt quite pan out

Looks pretty much the same as it did at the 7 month mark

I personally find hook keepers immediately ahead of the foregrip totally annoying. Hate the darn things with a passion.

Yeah even if they weren’t in the totally wrong place for fighting fish and working lures. Who wants their hooks right on the balance point of the rod when carrying it around.

It’s a staggeringly stupid idea that fails on every level

And last night I was out collecting carp for bait.

Rode past a junk pile with an ironing board on it.

Bank side filleting has never been such a pleasure
