If you mean the Shimano Steve Starling Series "Squidgy Spin", then yes, they appeared just a bit too late for Christmas for most people. I would imagine if your tackle shop hasn't got them in, they could now order one from the distributors.

l have used the squidgy spin and they are a quality 7 foot soft plastic or hard bodied rod with heaps of pull and a nice tip ,l would highly recomened them to anyone.

At around $110 they are almost unbeatable...

I seriously checked one out last week - $109 and very nice for the money, good if you're after a 7 footer on the cheap

That Daiwa Samurai 7i seems nice, esp. for the price, it has a composite body rather than the metal body of the Hardbodyz series, but otherwise looks to be of similar quality. It is nice and smooth.

Hi Guys
I have a samuri set up on a squidgy spin rod its a nice setup & works very well for the money with both soft plastic & hardbodys.

The guides are fine. They aren't Titanium framed SIC or Alconite by any means, but they are serviceable and not likely to be a problem.

i own one of the 7ft squidgy spin rods and use it as my main rod.. mainly cause i havent had the spare dosh to fork out on a bream buster yet .. but i have no complaints... i have it matched with a shimano symetre reel... not a bad combo.... recently i have been having a pretty good run catching some nice sized bream the biggest around 42cm and a few others in the higher 30's and to say the rod has performed faultlessly would be an understatement.. good control over both hard and soft plastics and for $110 id say nearly unbeatable at that price.

To answer mad mikes question,

Samurai reels are great they are only a cheaper reel than the hard bodies cause there not one (graphite body) great drag and if u look at the explosion plans on the laguna and samurai there basicly the same as they both have 7 BB each 1 RB, great alternative......
