Taking photo with smartphone
Any tips capture good photos of your catch with smartphone while fishing alone? is it possible??
I'm sick just laying fish on the ground and taking the photo from above. |

Good idea.
But I don't need myself in it, just the picture of the fish will do the job. |

Hold the fish at your gut/hip... Phone at arms length and use the face camera so you can frame the shot
Or Get a gorilla or mini tripod on the phone and you can get apps that allow you to activate the camera by whistle/sound etc |

Just try different things! I like to lay my rod on the ground (obviously watch for sand in the reel, so if anything keep the handle side facing down), and lay the fish against it 'sitting up' if you will. Or try lay it against different textures (reeds, sand,a fallen log, side of the kayak, boat etc) and different angles. Get close to the fish, or close to the ground. Take a release shot if you're keen, nice and close to the water (just don't drop your phone!).
One thing to make sure of though, is always keep the fish's head in focus! Here's one i took with my crappy Nexus 5 phone camera, with a little editing: Nothing amazing but hopefully the advice is of some use to you! |

Fish with a mate This will allow you to take pics where you can hold your fish well out in front of you to make it look twice as big as it actually is.

Wow that pic you posted was awesome. Nice work Agreed! iPhone 7, Selfie Stick and Rod holder I use an iPhone 7 in a Lifeproof Case. I find the iPhone 7 to be very versatile, I can shoot all my vids and edit them using the app iMovie. I can take awesome stills with a timer, FYI the pic in my signature was done this way. I can also shoot video under water and I can retrieve stills from the footage. I mount it on a selfie stick and then in a rod holder. Below is a link to my YouTube channel if you wish to see the result. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbu...9WJDSiKuBOh3jw

change the angles you shoot at, show your viewers a new perspective. try to focus on the fish's eye for more impact. also a healthy fish looks miles better than one covered in leaves or worse one that's necked
