From initial reports on other forums and the like, the foam cell pro's from Ironman are vastly superior to anything they've bought out previously and are almost twice the price of their other stuff.

I don't know if they are twice the price everywhere. I paid $210 each for mine which isn't much more than the foam cells and in the same ballpark as Tough Dog, Rancho etc.

Was $210 each for the set of four mate or just the rear shocks? I thought the front struts were closer to $300 each?

It was $210 each. The fronts shocks for the GU were the same price, but may be different for a 200 and IFS. I bought from a sole trader too that has a small business so he might not have the overhead costs of the bigger retailers.

G'day Scott,
any update in relation to how the suspension is performing? As luck would have it, I work in Dandenong and both Ironman and Dobinsons have their main outlets here so I'm seriously considering the same shock/spring combination as yours. |

My brother modify's a lot of 4x4's Patrols,Rangers ect and fits alot of Dobinsons gear. Hasnt had any issues with them. TTS-Tuff Truck Solutions on facebook he would be happy to answer anyone's questions about the gear.

Hey mate,
Haven't tested them too hard yet but so far I'm really happy with them. Did about 100 kilometres of corrigations yesterday and they are way better than the Tough Dogs. I think getting a good spring rate is pretty important, it rides heaps better now it's fully loaded and over the 400kg constant rating. Before it would have been around 250kgs and the ride was a bit clunky and rough. For general touring the Foam Cell Pros/ Dobinsons are the best combo I've had. We are only following the Murray right now on the way to the Blue Mountains so no crazy driving for a bit to test them out well |

I've pulled the trigger on the foam cell pro's for the 200 and getting them fitted next week with Dobinson's springs. Looking forward to seeing the difference.

Hopefully it is a nice improvement, or else I'm gonna have to delete my recommendation posts. The 200 would ride nicely on road, hopefully you retain that. The offroad ride should improve a fair bit. Im really liking them, I found the roads near Cameron Corner more comfortable than the Highway.

@scubascott - what IC have you upgraded to for the 3lt? And how do find it... It's there a significant difference in power gains? Have you also upgraded from the factory turbo?

I've got a Cross Country Intercooler. The power gain from the Intercooler alone isnt much, but the drop in EGTs when towing, up hills and on sand is big. I have a steinbauer chip too which raises EGTs, but the intercooler brings them back down. Its more of a way of reducing the engine stress than anything. The scoop helps heaps too, the bullbar deflects air over the factory scoop. The turbo is factory, but it isnt controlled by the ECU anymore.
