Best way to slow drift?
Hey guys what is the best way to slow my boats drift.
When I'm fishing the edges I like to let the boat move with the current and just correct every now and then with the electric but when the wind picks up I drift too fast. What's the best way to slow the drift? any Ideas would be great. Cheers Captain |

Sea Anchor, (work a treat)
You can make a home made one as well. Cheap as chips. cheers

Captain, lots of guys have started using sea anchors to slow their drift on the flats over here in WA. A sea anchor can be as flash or as simple as you like. I've used 2x 10 litre plastic buckets on a rope tied to the side of the boat to good effect.
You can buy proper parachute style sea anchors from marine shops as well. Make sure you get a smallish one as most are designed for the open sea and can be huge. You don't want to stop your drift, just slow it down a bit. I've also seen a few home made jobs made from canvas or whatever you have available. It really is just a parachute for the sea. Cheers James
