Come on BFL, you missed the denouement... poking the reo-bar neatly into the hole of the noodle to keep the line tidy and weight secure.

Genius

Of course I'll be claiming that was always part of the script

I havent tested it yet and I'm worried about the strength of the ring - but I reckon it might be tough enough

While I like your blacksmithing of the 6mm stainless, tell me why you can't just attach the caribiner to the anchor rope

I used to know how to splice (sort of) - but I didnt want to invest too much time into an idea that may not work - so I'll be testing it wednesday night - if it works - I'll get more rope and splice it on.

The reasoning behind the large ring is - its supposed to be able the jump over the D shackle and slide down the anchor chain, all the way to the anchor.

With the way caribeena's are designed, you would need an enormous expensive stainless steel unit to do this.

If your Yanka doesnt jump the d-shackle - the 15kg of anchor and chain can slide back down to the bottom, when tension is released.

We currently use one of these but its a bit sticky, coz my mate uses 13mm anchor rope and its only rated to 12mm rope. (The wire means the rope can only slide one way through the device - so it doesnt jump the d-shackle - it just grips the rope once it hits the shackle and you can drag the floating anchor in under no tension)

I'm also a bit concerned my ring isnt big enough to jump the d-shackle, so I'll be making a larger one today.

I kept it on the small side coz I figured the smaller ring would be stronger
