Need a box or two
G’day guys
Now that I’m restocking my bream lures, I’m keen to know what people are using for storage? I used to have a “home base” box, but can’t remember the brand. Big one from fishin.com.au, Japanese name. They aren’t on the site anymore though Any suggestions on a new home base box and travellers would be great Cheers

They have 3 sizes - small - smaller and pocket size. I like to have a few spares in my pocket at all times - so I use boxes that hold around 10 rigged plastics or 3 hb's. And I carry an empty pocket size to make on the spot custom packs Then I have a slightly larger box that can still fit in my pocket but usually stays in the milk crate on the bike - that has back ups and lures I might need but probably wont - then the larger box doesnt always come out on short sessions - its just got spares and lures that may come in handy. I keep my lures in generic plano trays stored at home then fill one of the thin 3600 size trays with whichever lures/jigheads i want to take in my backpack for the session. The versus stuff looks cool but they seem more suited to someone who wants to just grab a big box of everything to chuck in a boat rather than on foot or kayaking.
Also have a big plastic tub from bunnings with a removable tray insert that works well for tools/leader/everything else storage

My lures are stored in the lure trays (6) that came with a tackle bag I was given. When I go fishing I now use a Rapala sling bag which came with purpose attached boxes. I just choose what I want for the location I will be fishing and pack lures accordingly. The sling bag has a couple of small pockets that fit small Sistema boxes for extra specific lures (possibly some sp's) as well. I find that they work well and are not expensive. Regards HBt.

i strangely take about 50 times the tackle i will need and never use any of it but you cant be too careful......this only costs you if you happen to lose the lot.

But If I head to waters with a variety of species, I sometimes get caught short. Especially on boats in saltwater. You never know when a school of Kingies is going to chase a quickly retrieved squid jig, then hang around the boat for a few minutes. (Actually that only happened once the other day) Its usually a school of Salmon or tailor that pops up. That school could have helped break up a dull day if you had the right gear. Or if the wind gets up while you are drifting for pinkies and you didnt bring any heavier jigheads. So my system is far from prefect but its 100% effective, 97% of the time of the time - and it all stems back to a time where I use to wear a tool belt to carry everything I'd need for a session Last edited by yellow door 1; 04-02-2019 at 04:49 AM. |

Using the Versus 3070 as my home base. Easily accommodates all my bream lures. Then I use a Plano 3600 as my main lure box when I go fishing. However just bought a Plano 2-3630 which is the same compact size (length and width) as the 3600 but is deeper. Helps if you want to carry a few extra lures.
