When there is no prefish there is no point taking the day off work just to make the briefing.

Spot on not going to take a day off just for a 30 min breifing

Hi guys,
No need to make this into an issue, the briefing and registration the evening before the comp are simply there to make things a little easier on the morning of the comp, both for the competitors and the Tournament Staff.
IF you can make it the evening before, (which from my experience a vast proportion of competitors do - especially in the more remote locations) - then great. You are able to register for the comp and/or join the ABT if you are not already a member, and then there is plenty of time for Tournament Staff to run through the rules, answer any questions and to address any issues relating to the tournament that may get raised.
The key words here are 'plenty of time' - there's no rush to get back to your kayak to finish sorting stuff out at 6:55am.
After the breifing is done, then its always a pretty good time to catch up with a few of the mates you only usually see at the comps and then enjoy the rest of the evening.
IF you can't make it, then NO WORRIES. You are still perfectly entitled to rock up in the morning, register, pay, ask questions etc and there is absolutely no penalty for not having been there the night before.

Anglers will start on Day 1 in the order that Pre-entry forms were received, with all those who did not pre-enter leaving right after the last one of the pre-entry competitors.
Day 2 and anglers leave in reverse order of Leaderboard position.
Again, there is no penalty for not attending the breifing - surely thats a good thing??
Regards,
Greg
