People will choose a particular rod over another for a whole range of different reasons. Budget, performance, practicality, aesthetics, brand loyalty and warranty structure are a few that most people consider. The most important criteria is the one that is most important to YOU. For the vast majority of us fishing is a hobbie and the enjoyment we get comes from all aspects of the sport. From the tackle we choose to setting up gear and the places we fish, not just the end result of pulling something from the water. So... if youve just gotta have something on the rod that's anodised red to match the trim on your reel or... recoils to free up the action of the blank or if your not happy unless you see GLX stamped somewhere then great. Your happy, I'm happy!! Nobodys made the wrong choice here and to imply that one alone aligns itself more directly with how seriously you take your fishing or how passionate you are about the sport sounds terribly elitist and a little bit patronising...

IMHO of course.
