It's a Hot One, What to Do?

Looking like a hot one on the weekend so I thought it would be a good idea to go through a few things to spot you and your fish from expiring.
  • Make sure you have plenty of water and that you take time out to drink it. Even if it means getting used to using a camel back.
  • Have a good wide brim hat to keep the sun off your face.
  • A bit of ice in the livewell keep the temp down and does make a difference to fish survival. Make sure you aerate the water well and flush out water as often as possible.
  • Plenty of sunscreen, don't want to roast.
  • A good long sleeve shirt to keep the sun off and fingerless gloves help protect the hands as well.
Feel free to add to the list so we all have a good comp.

And if you're female, do what I do, wear a long sleeve shirt like Bear said, but I also wear a sleeveless top undernear, one of those fishnet t-shirts. When it gets boiling hot, dunk your long sleeve shirt in the water and wear it. It's like being in an air conditioned room. Eventhough you may be dunking your shirt in algae infested water , in my opinion it's worth it, you're going to have a shower later on anyway!

I also carry a spray bottle water to wash my sunnies from the salt water sprays caused by the big boats!

Jigger, weigh-in is at 2pm at Matilda Bay Foreshore, right behind UWA thereabouts, if I'm right. And if you are a spectator for the weigh-in, may be worth bringing some shelter too in case they run out of trees! Don't think I'll be there for this weigh-in, just too bloody hot!

I will have to endure a saturday nights babysitting, Wiggles and all the stuff that goes with it, but sunday I get to fish the blackwood, I do enjoy fishing perth, but not as much as fishing the wood. And i can get home at a decent time. Sounds like a better deal to me. If its hot down here, I will take the kneeboard and get towed around the river by my mate
