for plumbing i would run one pump sucking water up from the back of your boat pumping through the side with am aerator valve for oxygen levels.

i have a twin overflow setup as i couldn't get to the back of my livewell but i have them running into a t section under the decks and out the back of the boat so gravity can work.

I'll take some pictures for you tonight as my set up is what i think your after

Yeah that would be great Boris .

The painting thing may be an issue as Joe has said with the chemicals leaching into the water. Need a bit more thought on that one.

Colour

Bright colours cause a problem when the lid is constantly opened/closed to add fish as the light bounces around and spooks the bream in the well. Darker colours are best but it does make it more difficult to see into the well, especially if the water is cloudy or tannin stained. Dark is better for the fish though!

Sort out your plumbing and drill all the holes, remove fittings and spend $30 to get it powder coated.

Think about a removable divider for the well and maybe a spray bar for oxygenation or a timer module for the pump-in. Seach flowrite for the rolls royce models.

Before the floor goes in insulate the box with foam/rubber on all sides plus the bottom if possible. It is amazing how much latent heat is transferred through the ali hull and structure. If possible also insulate the lid.

Thanks Mark, where would I get it powder coated? That seems to be the way to go and i was thinking of a darkish green as that is the colour of our water here on the Port river most of the time.

Hey Lazy

I wouldn't be to concerned about painting the inside of your tank, regardless of colour they are in the dark most of the time and when you open and close the well, they are disturbed colour wont make a big difference.

They are extremely resilient, I run a bream breeding program in Tas and we have put our broodstock through some really tough trips home, and always had 100% survival and had them spawn within the week in tanks.

They would have to be the toughest of all sports fish.

But one thing i can tell you from having them in captivity is they are high users of oxygen, therefore a good supply of air or in the case of a livewell a venturi on the inflow is a must this will keep them not only alive but removes chemicals related to stress.

I would save my money on paint and sand blasting and buy a decent live tank kit. these can be bought at most boating stores and are great.

Hope this helps

Regards
Dan

Thanks CK, I think I know the place you spreak of .

And thanks Cranka, it needs a clean up to get rid of the surface rust. They are a tuff fish but I'll be sure to get the right set up .

I'll be sure to check that out BB.

My only concern is the well is a bit small to divide into 2 for future ABT events.
