Which of these 3 hulls would you choose?
Hi,
Well went to the boat show to decide which boat I would like to purchase. I am now pretty set on the Stessl Edgetracker 435 Tournament seems to be the best buy for money from what I have seen at the show and just seems to be roomier and more space for some reason as well. The Stacers and Quintrex seem to be about 8-10 k dearer, am I missing something? Last edited by Golden Monk; 31-07-2004 at 08:28 AM. |

Hard to know
Are the comparisons you make on the same motor combination.
I personally do not think there is a lot of differnce in cost from what I have seen here in S.A . Both the Quintrex and the Stessl are great outfits. I have a Hornet Trophy 435 and it has been Brilliant.. Maybe you should breakdown both packages for comment . Things like power Trim and Tilt ,consoles. I personally would not go for a console in that size boat ! When i purchased mine I wanted the consoole for looks and comfort but made the decision to go for more fishing space ! When my mate and I have been hooked up to small Kingfish on 10lb and both of us running over the deck during joint hook-ups confirmed my decision to be right for me . Softer Ride
Traveller ,
Looking at both Hornet and Stessl hulls I would say if anything the Hornet would be softer although I have not tested both units side by side ! To Say a Hornet is not soft riding would be a brave statement for anyone that knows about Hull design. Woody |

Woody...
I've been in both Edgetracker and Hornet... in places like Sydney Harbor, Botany Bay and Swan.......... when it chops up......from my personal experience I've drier and more comfortable on the Edgetracker than I've been on the Hornet.... I'm not a boat designer nor would I pretend to be one...... It might be the setup on the boats that make one ride better than the other....

Ira and I had been rating the Stessls long b4 they started to win awards. I still believe that now.
Enjoy the boat GM.

to be honest I'd lean towards the Stessl out of the above 3 but don't discount the Elegant as it's more surefooted and doesn't rattle like a pressed hull. You may just be surprised by the $ difference.

I like the fit out better in the Stessl, the option for the Live wells were better and more appealing to me, the boat decking also seemed to be up higher in more of the boat. Unfortunately I do not have al the details on the quintrex and stacers as they did not have flyers made up for them, whereas on the stessl they did. Upon looking at the ready to go packages the prices differences were not to much, which now confuses me a little. Last edited by Golden Monk; 01-08-2004 at 07:40 PM. |

Boat show pricing?
HI,
What do you al think about the boat show prices?...do you think I would be able to get the same sort of deal if not buying at the boat show? Thanks |

From what I've heard, the boat show can be a great place to buy a boat if you're good at negotiating. You'd have to be willing to do a lot of running around and getting quotes, but nothing will get the dealer to drop their price as well as a cheaper quote from a competitor.
There are plenty of Quinnie and Stacer dealers there this year, so price comparisons shouldn't be an issue. (someone keeps editing my posts for some unknown reason, so I apologise if this is edited to the point of not making sense as well...)
