Hi Bear
Szarn and I went up there for a few days a couple of years back.At the time the bar had not been open for 5 years. The system gets fresh salt water in it by the swell flushing over the bar.
We ended up useing hard bodies and we could fish nearly back to the main road.
There were bream right though the system but the best was from the front to the end of the old sky area.
Szarn landed a good giant herring down the front and, the day before we arrived, one guy cought a 14kg mulloway. So you should have fun.

I've fished there a fair bit black and gold fishes well. The only issue is weed there is heaps . Pumpkinseed grubs are good to. The points on the ocean are good for tailor and small mullas

Thanks guys. Taking the fly rod as well so might give the floating line a go with a few mid weight flies. Should be fun.
