Owner Cultiva
Hi Guys, just wondering if anyone has used an Owner cultiva much for bream? I picked a gold and orange one up the other day and the bream seemed to like it on the weekend. It's 65mm long and has the same sort of detailed paint job as the River2Seas.
It's got an interesting action too. Quite a wide wobble, almost reminds me of a barra lure like a gold bomber. It dives to around 1-1.5m. I managed 3 bream on it on the downstream swan river flats, but also dropped an unusally high number of fish. Don't know if that was because of the size of the lure or something else? It may be a good option for the bigger bream down at Walpole/Albany. James.

I've never sen them but they look good! The only thing is it doesn't look like the bib would throw much sand up on the flats...maybe a shallow area with rocks or fallen timber
Any other colours Jimi? Andrew |

g'day jimi,
haven't tried them but i got a r2s humbug 65mm on the weekend, very similar front end to the cultiva.i think the rolling action is from the cup?? shaped face above the bib because the r2s did the same thing.i changed the original hooks to the smaller no.10 owners before i put in the water.no bream but plenty of small taps.maybe grunter.r2s wobbles like you described the cultiva & maybe the lack of tight schimmy action is rolling the hooks away from a strike.where'd you buy it from?? |

A friend of mine used the Cultiva on the flats in Walpole when we were down there during easter and it certainly worked well. During one session it outfished ever other lure we tried, including the River2Sea and the gold Scorps. The one he was using was in a dark green colour but I think the other colours would also have worked. I will certainly be adding a few to my collection. Dror |

Hi Guys, I got mine from Bluewater Morley. They have only just got them in, so there may even be a few left
. I only picked up the one lure as I didn't know what they'd be like. They come in a large range of colours, mostly natural looking colours like the R2S lures. They don't kick up that much sand on the flats as they are shallow divers, but still seem to work ok. I too replaced the hooks with size 10 gamas. I was thinking of upsizing to size 8 to see if I can get more hook point exposure which may help with the missed hookups I got. James

Mmm hmm... And yes they work.. let's leave it at that!
Ok, ok... they work *well*. The MiraShad 45 is better... dives a tad deeper, smaller size, awesome colours. Fitted with No. 10 ST-36s.

While we're talking about lures that are a bit different check these guys out.
They're Maria Flying Divers - these colours are for the 70 & 85mm versions I saw some locally a while back severely discounted, and am now kicking myself for not picking some up - I'm going to do a run past the store tomorrow to see if there's some left, we live in hope Cheers,
