Sol or Tierra

Hi guys im looking at buying another reel and have bascially decided on the sol but looked at the the tierra which looks almost as good and it is cheaper. Has anyone given both reel a workout. Was are the main differences between the 2 performance wise.

Go the SOL, you won't be disappointed.

Both are very good reels for the middle-end market range. High quality with all round smootheness, great drag pressure and line lay is very nice as usual. They are strong and robust and can take a bit of punishment if you happen to have the little accident against the boat or rocks as I've seen with a couple of them. A little bit of weight difference, but that's not the concern....... question is do they balance outfits well? Yes they both do.

Both asthetically pleasing so I think it is really up to you which one to choose. There have been some problems reported that I've come across with the roller-bearing in the Sol, but not much harm done.

The Exceler is a nice reel but if you like to compare another middle-end market reel from the same company, then the Tierra and Sol a a class above.

Worth their value. I believe they are.

i have both a sol 2000 and a tierra 1500, i notice very little difference between them.
both have awesome drag systems, good line lay (althought the sol seems slightly better at this, dont know why)
tierra is the smoothest of the two simply because the sol is almost a year and a half old and the tierra is about a month old, a brand new sol against a brand new tierra i believe the sol is smoother.
if i was going to buy just one it would probably be the tierra, fair bit cheaper and really not alot of difference between the two.
im happy with both reels so either way you wont be dissapointed
