sx-40 question?

G'day guy's
I have recently started throwing a few of these great little h.b's
around & i'm wondering about the front split ring on the nose
of these lures.. I have never been a fan of tieing directly to a
split ring due to the chance of cutting the leader..
Im wondering if you guys remove the split ring than tie a loop
knot or use a fly clip directly to the split ring or tie a knot(uni, blood
knot etc) directly on the split ring????
any advice would be great....
thanks

i tie a loop knot (not sure what its called) straight onto the split ring - i've never lost a fish nor had the line break at that point when snagged.

thanks for your input guys.
has anyone tried using this lure with the split ring removed?
just wondering if there would be any negative effects on it's
action or balance..

I tie a uni directly on to the split ring, making sure to tighten the knot opposite to the ends of the split ring. Never had any issues with it.
