Confidence Lure Fishing

Gday there ,
We all have one ambition when we go out for a fish , and that is to catch a fish , be it decent or an absolute horse .Most of us hope that by the end of a session we have at least a couple of rippers in the live well , if not a stable full of fine looking thouroughbreds. Every Bream angler has there thought and ways of how such a feat should be acheived , different technique as well as lure selection . But when it comes to the crunch , and a fish cant be landed , there is one lure that you may insist works . My favourite plastic is the Atomic Green /Gord, favourite Hard Body , is yet to be decided as they all work .Although , it would have to be as Strike pro . I love the Eco , but can fish more confidently with The pros .. So i was wondering if i could get everyones feedback on their favourite "CONFIDENCE" lures . Namely just two , 1 SP Favourite , and 1 Hard body favourite . It will be interesting to see what lure and color will come out trumps.. Cheers Nick

sp - watermelon pearl bass minnow

hb - translucent light brown eco gear

I know they're not particularly original choices but they work for me

Alot of the time the "confidence lure" is what you have caught on in different rivers.
For instance I use 2 inch powergrubs in pumpkinseed in the swan. If im fishing the blackwood I use 3 inch Bass Minnows in Emerald Shiner. Walpole I will use River 2 Sea in the gold/Orange. The Murray is a ****************ful river (for me anyway) but I use Dan Magrath's Attack in the Brown trout.
Now these are my go to lures when what ever else Im using doesnt work.
The problem with confidence lures is that if you dont catch on them you can lose the focus needed for comp fishing.
Something I have found recently that helps is prefishing oldschool style.
By that I mean go back to the lures that worked 18 months ago for you. Things like 2inch Bassmaster grubs or Sneaky Scorps. Use stuff that was around before the new fad of SX40's (an overated lure for my books) etc came out.
I feel this works for me and others. Look at Tim Morgan in the Grand Final. He used a lure that he had confidence in at Forster. The Crawdad fatgrub. He may not use it at any other river (you would have to ask him that) because something else works for him.

It's a silvery fleckeld baitfish imo.

The paddletails work when the fish are a bit spooky'!
