Talking Tuperware tinny owners

Guys,

I am about to order a Polycraft 4.1 and I am wondering if someone could give me a hint as to where to mount the transducer for the sounder. I have a Humminbird Matrix 37 and I am looking at mounting the transducer at the rear of the vessel. Some photos would be great, I just do not want to stuff it up, not sure how you plug up extra holes in PE

Thanks,

Fletch

This is were I have my Transducer located. Its a Navman one. I know of others that have placed it on the outer part of the hull and are having lots of trouble with it.
I have no trouble with mine, other than the speed wheel clogging up with crap

I've been told to mount the transducer as far away from the engine as the hull will allow but I dont have a poly.

Engine "noise" can blank out the screen. Im not sure how far sounders have advanced but it was an issue when I got my entry level, eagle sounder, about 8 years ago.

Yeh, mine is in a similar place to bubbas, and l don't have any trouble. l think the main thing is the y axis location and making sure it is reasonably square across the x axis.

Hi Fletch,

Keep the shavings from every hole you make and you can heat them into a putty to fix any mishaps

It will even be the right colour

Take advantage of plastic!

I mounted mine inside the Hull - in a huge blob of Silicone (bubble free)

Then I lent it to Furuno - Who tested it in the River against and outside transducer with no noticeable difference

Mine will never be damaged lots or broken and it’s a much tidier installation

Gary
