Difference between Strikepro pygmy and SX-40F

Are they the same lure with the same action but with two different names and colours or is there a distinct difference between the 2?
If there's a difference no matter how subtle, spill 'em...

Action

Without a doubt the Eco-Gears have a consistant action, where you can feel it vibrating on the entire retrieve, whereas all the Strike Pros Ive thrown dont even go close and I can barely feel any action if at all, to the stage I wont throw them.

I only have 4 strike pros, but will always go Eco straight up.

So to me it comes down to consistant action, which Strike pros lack, which counts out the slow retrieve - IMO its a more of a twitch twitch lure I think, really dunno - its been a while since tying one on. But yeah lack of action is its downfall.

Cheers

same same, but diferent i wouldnt call the strike pro bad its just a simple prosess of tuning the things and puting a deccent treble on them and they rate on my book rite up there with the eco i use both with confidence because theve both caught plenty of fish for both myself and drewy who acctualy uses the strike pro more than th eco

STrike pros are suspenders whilst the ecos are floaters. However since the strike pros comes with shyte trebs, upgrading them to a stronger, thicker, bigger trebs would make them a slow sinker.....

Strike pros are nearly half the price too.

The strike pros can be retrieved slowly, but i did have to tune one stright out of the box to do this.

Wait for swan river comps to come, they and ecogears are going to kill the pig...

How do you tune the strikepros?

A few of you have mentioned that the strikepros need tuning. Does every strikepro need tuning or just the occassional one? Also, how do you tune them? I've not used HBs so things like that are alien to me and how do you decide if they need tuning?

When you put a bit of speed into the retrieve they start going one way and doing like a loop, so you will need to adjust the tow point ever so slightly the opposite way, its a fine line but you can usually do it in 2-3 casts. Yeah look I dont say Strike Pros are bad and I can get them swimming straight, but I just prefer the Eco`s as I reckon they have more action.

cheers

Richo did you buy the pigmies or the slightly longer version(cant remember the name). They look almost identical but I found the longer one has far less action.

I didn't even know they come in 2 sizes!!! I hope I got the smaller one. Anyone know how to identify the smaller one from the bigger one if you only have one type? What's the length of the small one and the longer one?

The two sizes are the pygmy (sx-40 lookalike) & the slightly longer slimmer one (and I mean slightly!) which is called the small fry.

Dont write off the "SMALL fry", they have just as much breaming capacity as the pygmys . I have caught on the SF , and believe thery are just as superior lure . It all depends on his or her retrieve ,and fishing style .
