That is a monster of a lure - does using those larger lures help weed out the small fish - I reckon the scorp 35's I have used are big - but as Its more a self fulfilling prophecy than a scientifically proven theory. I got fish when I down sized and have never up-sized since

Some people use the 68's.

Its only 4mm longer than sx48's... They work really well, when the fishing is harder then go smaller. I use the 52 as my go to lure for my home system

I subscribe to that theory - the only difference is - I approach every piece of water as if it is difficult . Everytime.

When its suggested I downsize if the fishing gets tough, I read that as - smaller lures will work when things are tough .......
AND when things are going good - so I just use smaller lures all the time and wait for them to work.

I'm admitting I may be missing a vital piece of the puzzle and I recognise that different waters fish differently but since I switched to 4cm lures - I'm surprised when I dont get a hook up or hit from a good cast to good structure.

I noticed when Upsizing plastics and using faster retrieves it got bigger fish. I know the reverse is true aswell but bigger and quicker got me the better ones.

I probably havent given the bigger hardbodies a fair go yet. Probably coz I cant afford all the crazy prices. If they charge by the mm - "I'm out"
