Painting
Can any body give me some tips on painting hbs?
Ive got a few that have really stuffed up paint jops so i thought id repaint them. What type of paint would you recomend and how do you get the remaining old paint off the lure? I'm thinking just sand it down? Cheers Daniel |

Don't know why you'd want to re-paint them. I'd say i've caught more fish on lures that are bashed up and scratched than ones that are straight out of the box.
Model paints are good, nailpolish etc. Just lightly sand them back and go from there.

a usefull tool in anyones stash is a bottle of clear nail varnish
you have to be carefull not to put too much one though as it will affect the lures action somewhat, the fancy glitter varnish you get in the bargin bins at the mall are great for adding a bit of sparkle some of the more dull lures! but i would hesitate to use the regular nail varnish, as it never looks as good on lures as it does on yer lady's nails! if you could get pvc paint and a spray gun that would be the best thing! then use clear varnish over the top!

Be carefull using thinners as it will melt the plastic if you use to much and put some masking tape on the bibs if they are plastic to it will send a clear bib all shitty looking

Daniel
get some wet or dry sand paper about 1200 grade put a little detergent in a bucket of water and rub away only use fine paper or you could change the shape of your lure and make it swim all pissed BIG PETE

cheers for that,
i tried some sand paper 300 or 400 i think, and it wasnt too bad, toook a bit of time getting the paint off and the lures not very rough and stil swims fine. ill just use some 1200 before i paint it to make it smoother |
