What's hot and what's not in colurs - GOOOOLLLDDDDD

I have read quite a few posts and fishos are rating Gold as the pick in colours when chosing any make of lure. Gold is definitely a good colour but not one i would pull out every time I go fishing - O like the greens and darker colours loke the blacks with gold flecks. What's the best colour for bream or does it depend on the system you are fishing???

I personally don't think there is such a thing and really, we tend to generalise way too much. The key is to try different colours until you find one that works.

Yeah I think one of the big things with colours is confidence, when you decide that gold, for instance, is a hot lure colour you start using it more and then due to the fact you are using it more, you catch more fish with that colour. Then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
There a lots of good colours, some will work better on some days than others.
One lure colour I find very effective that is underated is purple. I have read that tip from a few different sources and found it to be true myself because the first lures I ever made I painted purple (as it was the only colour I had on hand) and I find they do the job well.
