In northern NSW you just need the standard NSW fishing licence.

In SEQ you don't need a licence to fish saltwater but I am pretty sure you need one to fish impundments.

Hope this helps

G'day SAAB,

As Jethro said there is no permit requirement for saltwater in SEQ but there are permits required for impoundments.

The North Pine River below the dam (North Pine Dam) does not require a permit however, to fish from a paddle powered or electric powered craft above the dam in Lake Samsonvale a permit is required, see
http://prfma.tripod.com/.

The Stocked Impoundment Permit scheme covers another 29 dams in Queensland and there are also some dams that require fees to local Councils. It's best to look at the Fishweb site to check before fishing any dam, see http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/fishweb/14519.html

Hopefully the above sites will answer your questions in detail.

All the best.
