First Lure
Hey guys.
Heres a pics of my first home made lure. It is yet to have the bib added or they coating of clar on the paint! Note the experimentation with hook placement. I have another 3 (2 different, 1 the same) at different stages of production. I'll let you all know how they go. This is actually not as good as the other i made in the same shape! Dave |

Dave, thats not bad mate!
What timber (if it is timber that is) did you use? What material are you going to use for the bib?

The black and white one is actually red and black now! It is destined to be a blood nut!
I have basically mixed current shapes into one lure. No particular design, but i have made a template just in case i want more! I haven't used them yet as i haven't fully sealed them with clear paint, and i have no pool.( I can't go fishing as i have a broken leg.) I might try the fish tank as a tester! Dave |

Nah mate i wish.
I'm thinkin of turning my tank into a bream special tank. This way i can test lines, lures, colours etc. And see them in a semi natural scenery and watch how they act!!! I might see if i can do it with freshwater instead of Brackish as it saves me buying the extra equipment! Dave |

Hey thanx PeteS.
I hadn't thought of that. I was more worried about the action of the lure than the bouyancy, but i will now put that into consideration!!! I have a feeling that due to the balsa, i'm going to have to much bouyancy, so i'm thinkin a bit of lead may be the go. LCF, mate the only thing my bream will be eating is my softies and hard bodies! Nah just jokes, that would be cruel!!! Dave |
