Hi guys,
My Minn Kota gave up the ghost on Saturday, down the Blackwood. Auto pilot was flashing on and off. Started to steer itself continually in an anti clockwise direction, was not able to adjust speed at all, sometimes it stuck on and kept driving.
Had to disconnect it from the battery to stop these things happening. Then it worked fine for an hour or so then played up again. Then it died would not drive at all, will still steer though. I had just fitted a new battery, that should not make any difference though?
Gunna pack it up and send to BLA Queensland.
Anyone had similar problems?
So if you see the black hornet down the Blackwood this weekend I will be paddling again. lol

It's probably the foot control connection plug/socket.
Most of the guys I know over here with RT55AP's have had a problem of water getting into that join and the motor going crazy like that. Mine has had the problem of the servo going seizing and I can't steer sometimes, and I have no auto-pilot. T^hat's riptides for ya...

How old is it? The best thing about them is the 3 year warranty.

foot controller

It is only 2 years 4 months old. Pretty sure it is not water in the plug tried it again yesterday in the garage at home. It will steer but will not drive.
I just had the circuit board in the foot controller replaced three months ago.
Cheers Muzz

Apart from the problems with the leccy Muzz, how was the fishing?

I went to Molloy Is from Thursday to Sunday for 3 undersize fish.
