When spraying your reel with Inox does it matter if you get it on your line?
Will it affect the fireline in anyway ie. weaken it?

Cant reply with experience but personally I wouldnt touch the line with any sort of stuff like that even if it doesnt affect the line, the fish will notice it!!

I would of thought it would come of after a dozen cast in the salt but i havent tried it yet so i carnt be sure.

Fair point. I'm not saying dont use it, just try to minimise amount going on the line.
Personally I prefer inox rather than CRC on fishing gear (boat mostly) as the local mechanic reckons that CRC will eat into the insulation wrapped around the wires. It is GOOD stuff

Inox and CRC have silicone in them and will soak into the line especialy braid it will stick to mono for ages and fish will smell it just take the spool off when tuning your reals

Hi guys,

Its my understanding that Inox is a food grade lubricant unlike WD40 or any of the others. I use it on all my rods and reels and have not noticed any adverse effects to any of my lines (Fireline). I don't purposely spray the line and try not to over spray onto the line but am not to concerned if it does.

From what I've been told - another advantage is it doesnt break down reel grease like WD40 does.

You can get it from any hardware store in the same area as the WD 40 etc. A lot of boat shops have it as well but you pay a lot more for the same thing. You can get it in the normal spray can or in a 3 litre ( I think ) bottle and put it into a smaller spray bottle. This costs around the $50 mark I think. Spray cans are around the $7 - $10 mark.

I have been using INOX on all my reels for like ever. I coat my line in it, particularly braid to prevent spool corrosion. I have noticed no detrimental effect on my fishing. And all my reels are like new.

I believe it is made out of refined vegitable oil, and true, unlike WD40 it does not break down grease, paint, rubber, plastic or other products.
A million uses, cleans, lubricates, protects, frees seized joints and threads, taste good on toast and makes you more attractive to women
It is sold nearly everywhere selling other automotive/hardware products. Bunnings, Supacheap, servo's, boat yards and all good book stores .

I'm nor sponcered by them, but I wish i was, I use a LOT of it.
