If U like the epix then U like the inspira
basically the same body and internals. just more bearings and slower and white in colour. |

ive got an epix and find it great as a backup reel
had a feel of the inspira 15 at the local shop in margs and they fellt allright felt like the epix did at first but after a couple of uses they seem to losen up and feel a bit better |

oh yeah
the epix seems to handle the fireline fine been useing 4lb on it for about a month without any hassles\ the inspira shouldnt be too different mabye the change in speed could affect it |

Mate,
Have an IS-30 which i got cheap from overseas and for the money i would go the Shimano Stradic anyday. I find the finish on the Okuma's not as good and if you are going to spend the bucks go the Shimano for sure. The drag increments on the Inspira i find isn't too good either. Increments are not finite enough if you know what i mean. But in answer to your question: it will handle fireline fine but make sure you have check out the stradic before purchase. P.s i have no connection with shimano at all. I am just a consumer (povo uni student actually) looking for the best value for money product on the market. |

yeah i find the drag increments far to large ass well
and would certainly favour the stradic over an inspira |

Matthew,
i also have an inspira 30 ,only bout a month old, it handles fireline fine i've got 6lb on it, i would also have to agree that the drag increments isn't as good as a shimano, i have the shimano symetre and find the shimano drag heaps better. so yeah go with the shimano stradic if its around the same price Cam |

Stradic 2500 $230
Inspira Is20 $180 The stradics 20% more costly for 1/3 the ball bearings. Personally I've always found the Ball Bearing count to be a fairly reliable indicator of long term surival. Like they say in cars theres no replacement for cubes. If my inspira's are anything as reliable as my 2 epix's then I'll be very very happy. |

I woulden't go on the number of bearings I go on the quality. Alot of the cheaper reels have got cheap bearings so it doesent matter how many bearing there are as long as the quality is there.
1 Good bearing will outlast 5 cheap bearings

Mate,
I wouldn't go with the amt of ball bearings a reel has too. Not a good indication IMO. The stradic is a way better option ... or even consider the symetre. Its a great reel too...... |

yeah dont choose a reel on the number of bearings as it doesnt represent the overal quality.
often in cheeper reels with hight bearing counts bearings are cheap and are put in places that dont need bearings as much as others. eg the handle sadly you normally get what you pay for |

I've been using my Epix for 2.5 years as my main reel without a problem. I've had it servciced once not because it needed it but because it was 1.5 years since new. Id hardly call them a cheap reel, it still feels the same as it did when I bought it today.
For the record I like them so much I own 1 Is20, 2 EFS 20 and a EPIX 40, 1 IS15. I can fit my whole boat out with a better than average quality reel for minimal price. That I know will cast lures all day without a hitch. Good value for money in my book. Each to his own I guess. |

G'day
Thanks all for the advice.. I ended up with a is15. ($100) I had been previously using a efs30 but this was to heavy for my needs. i liked the efs30 and its perfomance Was exeptional. Was just after other peoples opinions I will look at the Stradics and cappers later in the stage!!! Cheers guys Matthew |

I disagree. Whats the use in having more bearings if the quality of them isnt as good. In reality, they can be just another item to fail. And as for the cubes comment...I'll simply point to a Japanese Sports car. Oh and this is of course my opinion, I'm not making a personal attack.
