Reel Maintenance

I dont wash my reel at all unless it get a bit of dirt on it or something (on the outside)
Can you guys give me some advice on keeping my Laguna smooth.
How do you clean your reels? I dont want to pull it apart and not be able to put it back again and is it neccessary to pull it apart?
I have never really cleaned my reels before so i havnt got a clue what to clean and what to leave alone any info will be good cheers!

I spray all mine after each trip in the boat, i just use a small water spray bottle with warm soapy water then leave them to dry, then pull the spool off and oil the shafts with reel oil. it's easy as i would suggest if you want to pull it apart get a shop to do it, probs cost you 10 bucks,

Another thing is to lubricate the bail arm roller with light machine oil. You need to undo the screw but it is simple. Otherwisw over time, it will seize up. But you should at least every year have it properly serviced and if you can not do it, take it to a tackle shop that will. Might only be $15.
